The Smart Water Operation Centre has highlighted the risk of heavy rainfall, particularly in eastern regions and along the western coast of southern Thailand, advising those in vulnerable areas to stay vigilant for possible flash floods and forest runoff.
Weather experts have reported that the strengthening southwest monsoon is impacting the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. Additionally, a monsoon trough that stretches over northern regions and extends into Vietnam is exacerbating the situation, leading to widespread thunderstorms.
From June 30 to July 3, scattered storms and heavy downpours are forecasted, with the eastern part of Thailand and the southern west coast facing the highest risk. As the monsoon system is expected to shift northward between July 4 and July 6, the country will continue to experience rainfall, compounded by strong southwest winds.
