Patrick Achi, the President of the National Assembly of Côte d’Ivoire, commenced a four-day official visit to Hà Nội on August 23, following an invitation from Vietnamese National Assembly President Trần Thanh Mẫn. This visit highlights the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Côte d’Ivoire, celebrated in October 2025.
During his stay, Achi is scheduled to engage in discussions with high-ranking Vietnamese leaders, including General Secretary of the Communist Party and President Tô Lâm. Achi will also hold talks with National Assembly President Trần Thanh Mẫn.
The discussions are anticipated to center on enhancing parliamentary collaboration and boosting economic and trade links between the two nations. Vietnamese officials have pointed out that Achi’s visit underscores a mutual interest in deepening bilateral relationships and exchanging legislative insights.
This visit marks the second time in three years that a head of Côte d’Ivoire’s legislature has traveled to Vietnam, reflecting a growing commitment to strengthening ties between the two countries. The series of meetings and talks are viewed as significant steps toward fostering cooperation and understanding between Vietnam and Côte d’Ivoire.
