During a meeting in Hanoi, Vietnamese Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng commended the collaborative efforts between Vietnam and Laos in the areas of inspection, auditing, and anti-corruption. The discussion, which included senior Lao official Vanhxay Phongsavanh, focused on enhancing cooperation as both nations work towards new developmental objectives.
Prime Minister Hưng highlighted the importance of bolstering national governance by improving discipline, increasing transparency, and fighting against corruption and wasteful practices. He stressed the need for exchanging experiences and training personnel to better handle complaints, refine institutional frameworks, and enhance inspection and supervision systems.
The two countries also agreed to enhance their partnership in identifying and addressing cases that involve cross-border issues. An additional focus was placed on the adoption of information technology and digital transformation within their inspection and auditing processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Both Vietnamese and Lao officials reaffirmed their commitment to fulfilling existing cooperation agreements. They expressed a mutual desire to continue strengthening the longstanding relationship between the two nations, emphasizing a shared goal of better governance and anti-corruption measures.
